Jim is a professional writer with more than 30 years experience working with executives of Fortune 500 companies such as Nationwide Insurance, Frigidaire, Electrolux, American General Life & Accident, Wendy’s International, and Procter & Gamble. His writing credits include speeches and presentations for an impressive list of direct selling companies – Lia Sophia Fashion Jewelry, Tupperware, Amway, The Pampered Chef, Longaberger, Willow House, Mary Kay, Herbalife, Cutco Cutlery, L’Bri Pure n’ Natural, Dove Chocolate Discoveries and Discovery Toys.
Recipient of numerous national and regional awards, including the International Association of Business Communicators Quill Award, Jim is the author of several books, magazine and newspaper articles, video productions, and TV and radio advertising.
Serving as Vice President of Communications for The Longaberger Company, Jim wrote and produced five national sales conventions, installed and operated a TV studio within Longaberger’s manufacturing plants, designed and directed the construction of The Longaberger Museum in Dresden, Ohio, and developed the initial concepts for The Longaberger Homestead tourist attraction.
At Wendy’s International, Jim wrote speeches for members of the senior management team including R. David Thomas, managed aspects of the international franchise convention, wrote and designed books and brochures, and created the worldwide “Wendy’s Magazine.”
Jim has written the national convention speeches and presentations for Lia Sophia, The Pampered Chef, Southern Living at Home, Tupperware, The Longaberger Company, Dove Chocolate Discoveries, Willow House, and L’Bri Pure n’ Natural, among others. For many years he wrote the Direct Selling Association’s Annual Meeting and served as chair of the DSA Communications Committee. An independent writer and producer for the past 20 years, he has worked throughout the United States, Canada, and in Europe.
Jim has a B.A. in English and Journalism from Miami University. He and his wife, Marilyn, have two children.
